It is a variation of Rotala rotundifolia and bears a strong resemblance to Rotala sp. ‘Green’. Providing high light levels, good fertilization, and adding CO2 will promote primarily creeping growth and result in a warm, rich reddish coloration. This allows for the creation of a dense, red mid-ground cushion or even an unusual, red foreground carpet.
