Rotala H'ra is a stunning red aquarium plant from Asia, being able to grow 30cm plus. It is very similar to Rotala green with its slim needle shaped leaves and the ability to creep sideways, However it is mostly used in the rear of the aquarium s a beautiful background plant. This plant has been known to do ok in non Co2 aquariums but to get the very best look we recommend co2 and good lighting.
Use Rotala H'ra in the background of your aquascape, or keep neatly trimmed in mid areas. We can train it to grow vertically by frequent trimming in the maturing stages to encourage it upwards, it's quite easy to do.
Once mature and growing as a tall stem, maintenance is usual, cut away enough to shape nicely, keep your cuttings and use them for a 'topping' method, place cuttings back into the trimmed area to add back instant colour and 'grown in' look.
Rotala H'ra can grow out of the water but will need a high humidity area, we recommend planting just below water level and allow new growth to immerse itself. you can also use this plant along with other rotala in a 'wabi kusa' ball
