Monte Carlo is a extremely popular carpeting aquarium plant, originating from Argentina. It has been grown many of times without Co2, but for the best compact healthy carpet it is recommend to inject Co2 . Monte carlo can also be used as a 'epiphyte' grown on aquascaping woods and rocks where it will grow downward giving a trailing effect .
How to Use Monte carlo
To create a carpet in the front of your aquarium plant small pieces around 2cm apart in the area you want your carpet to be, side shoot will spread to create a carpet of monte carlo. To use on wood take small pieces and using aquarium glue attach it to your hardscape
Plant Maintenance
Keep your carpet trimmed, if it gets too tall it can sometimes lift from the substrate or die back underneath where light cannot reach, we recommend no taller than 5cm.
Growing emersed
Monte carlo can grow out of the water, coming out the top of your aquarium or in paludariums where humidity is high
