Its leaves are noticeably smaller, more elongated, and greener than the typical R. macrandra. Under intense lighting, the leaves may become broadly oval and develop attractive reddish tints.

This plant is best suited to the background or midground and should be planted in nutrient rich substrate. It is also a nice addition to dutch style tanks.
Plant Maintenance
Regular trimming encourages dense, bushy growth. If allowed to reach the water's surface, Rotala macrandra 'Green' will produce emergent shoots bearing rounded, glossy green leaves and flower spikes adorned with small, white blossoms.
